Eligibility Criteria
- Aged 35 or below
- PhD Graduates
- Postgraduates (Master / PhD)
- Undergraduates
in Astronomy, Life Science and Medicine, Mathematical Sciences or other closely related subjects in any country / region may apply to join the Forum. Young scientists with the above-mentioned qualifications who are not affiliated to universities or organisations may also apply.

Application Fee
No application fee is required.
Selection Process
- Scientific Review Committees under the three disciplines, namely Astronomy, Life Science and Medicine, and Mathematical Sciences would review all valid applications.
- Scientific Review Board would make the final selection of 200 applicants to join the Forum.
Result Announcement
- All applicants, whether successful or not, will be notified by email in July 2025.
Arrangements and Supports Provided by the HKLF Office
- To all participants
- Meals, transportation, visits and cultural experience activities included in the Forum’s official programmes
- To non-Hong Kong Permanent Residents outside Hong Kong
- Hotel accommodation from 4-9 November 2025 (single occupancy with breakfast)
- Travel Grant* – the HKLF Office may consider to provide limited travel support of up to 50% of the actual paid price of the round-trip transportation tickets, or a maximum amount of up to USD1,000, whichever is lower, for those who have financial difficulties in travelling to Hong Kong. Details to be announced.
- To Hong Kong Permanent Residents outside Hong Kong
- Travel Grant* – the HKLF Office will provide up to 50% of the actual paid price of the round-trip transportation tickets, or a maximum amount of up to USD1,000, whichever is lower, for those who do not need hotel accommodation provided by the HKLF. Details to be announced.
* Subject to terms and conditions, and it is at the sole discretion of the HKLF Office.
