The Hong Kong Laureate Forum (the Forum) aspires to be a world-class academic exchange event to connect the current and future leaders in scientific pursuit, as well as to foster understanding and interests of the young generation in Hong Kong and beyond across various disciplines in science and technology.

The Forum is fully sponsored by the Lee Shau Kee Foundation. Driven by a commitment to advance its mission far and wide, the Lee Shau Kee Foundation has, over the years, offered boundless support for education and talent development in Hong Kong, mainland China, and abroad. Additionally, the Foundation is dedicated to poverty relief and promoting social well-being, thereby benefiting countless individuals.

The Forum will invite the participation of recipients of our home-grown Shaw Prize. The Shaw Prize was established in 2002 to recognise advances and outstanding contributions in three disciplines, namely, Astronomy, Life Science and Medicine, and Mathematical Sciences. In just two decades, the Shaw Prize has become a world-renowned award for the highest achievements in mankind. Indeed, among over 100 Shaw Laureates since 2004, many of them have subsequently been awarded other world-renowned international awards, including 16 Nobel Prize awardees, 10 Lasker Awards winners, 7 Fields Medallists and 4 Abel Prize recipients.

The Forum aims to inspire young scientists from around the world by offering a range of programmes comprising world-class intellectual seminars, dialogues, workshops, poster sessions, etc. and provide ample opportunities for exchanges between the Shaw Laureates and emerging scientific talents. The Forum is also an international platform to encourage cross-cultural dialogue, promote collaboration and understanding among diverse scientific communities.

香港桂冠論壇是一個聯繫當代和新一代科研領袖的世界級學術交流盛會，旨在提升香港及其他地區年輕一代對不同科學及科技領域的認識和興趣。

論壇由李兆基基金全額贊助。李兆基基金以「一傳十、十傳百」為目標，歷年來對香港、內地及海外的教育和人才培訓給予無限支持，作育英才；同時致力扶貧濟困，關懷社會，受惠人數不計其數。

我們會邀請邵逸夫獎各屆得獎者出席論壇。邵逸夫獎於2002年在香港設立，以表彰在天文學、生命科學與醫學及數學科學方面取得突破和作出傑出貢獻的科學家。在短短二十年間，邵逸夫獎已成為表彰揚人類文明最高成就的世界知名獎項。事實上，由2004年開始，在100多個邵逸夫獎得獎者中，多位還獲得其他世界知名的國際獎項，包括16位成為諾貝爾獎得獎者、10位獲得拉斯克獎、7位獲得菲爾茲獎，以及4位獲得阿貝爾獎。

論壇旨在透過安排來自世界各地的青年科學家參加包括世界級的學術研討會、對談會等活動，讓他們與邵逸夫獎得獎者有充分的交流機會，以從中得到啓發。論壇亦將會是一個鼓勵跨文化交流的國際性平台。
